"We welcome you to
this faith family." |
| First Presbyterian Church was
formed on May 10, 1851 when 11 Christians met in the toll house at the
south end of the bridge across the Fox River in Omro and committed
themselves to the new church as members. For over 150 years, many people
have met the love and grace of God in this church. |

"We believe the Holy Spirit calls women
and men to all ministries of the church." |
|
"We
believe all power in heaven and earth is given to Jesus
Christ by Almighty God, who raised Christ from the dead and
set him above all rule and authority. God has made Christ
Head of the Church which is his body. Christ calls the
Church into being, giving it all that is necessary for its
mission to the world, for its building up, and for its
service to God. Christ is present with the Church in both
Spirit and Word." (Book of Order
Paragraph 1.0100)
"We believe the Holy Spirit calls

***What
Presbyterians Do**** |
|
"Christ gives to His Church its faith and
life, its unity and mission, its officers and ordinances. In worship
the people of God acknowledge God present in the world and in their
lives. In worship the faithful offer themselves to God and are
equipped for God’s service in the world."
(Directory for Worship
Paragraph 1.1000)
When we say the Lord’s Prayer in
worship, we say: "forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors." |
|
***Scripture & Sacraments*** |
|
"The church confesses the Scriptures to
be the Word of God written, witnessing to God’s self-revelation.
Where that Word is read and proclaimed, Jesus Christ the Living Word
is present by the inward witness of the Holy Spirit."
(Directory for Worship Par. 2.2000)
"Baptism is
the sign and seal of incorporation into Christ."
(Directory for Worship Par. 2.3000)
The Lord’s
Supper is the sign and seal of eating and drinking in communion with
the crucified and risen Lord.
