The
Presbyterian
Church USA is a national and world wide church. This
church is a member of
Winnebago Presbytery
with the presbytery office in
Appleton. We are called to be a worshipping, serving,
confessing and sharing part of the global and ecumenical
church. There are 40 churches in this presbytery. |
|
Our church
building was built in 2003 on a 15 acre site across the street from the
Omro Elementary School.. The first worship service held in this new
location was on January 24, 2004. The building consists of a
multi-purpose area used for worship and fellowship, two classrooms,
offices, kitchen, and a parents' room. An additional classroom and
storage are located in the "annex" constructed north of the main
building |

|

| The
1,000 pound bell that now sits in front of the church was
purchased by the people of Omro for $465 in 1871. In addition to
calling people to worship at the South Webster Avenue church, it
was also used for sounding fire alarms and heralding special
announcements in its early days. |
|
Two major
items were brought to this new location from the building at 404 S.
Webster Avenue that this congregation called home since 1867. The spire
had been in place atop the bell tower at the old church since 1984 when
it replaced the original steeple, struck and destroyed by lightning in
the early 1900s.
